“We almost didn’t rent this beautiful home because of some of the reviewers comments about the drive there. What a shame that would have been. The drive up is steep and curvy, but no more so than even major roads on the island. It was well worth the ascent! The home is set in a cliff where you experience views of the national forest on your left and fish bay and the sunset on your right.
Nelson was a friendly and helpful host. He did most of the building of the house himself, giving everything such character. We stayed here with our two young children who had a wonderful time in the pool and exploring all the different parts of the house.
This would be a great place to stay with friends or extended family as there is quite a bit of privacy between the different bedroom areas, but yet the common spaces are roomy and perfect for gathering both inside and out. The sheets and towels were new and were of good quality, and the kitchen was well stocked. Nelson even has an orchid garden in the grill area to keep you smiling while flipping burgers!
It was such a treat to sit on one of the decks at sunset or for star gazing in this remote, beautiful place. We would most certainly recommend staying here!”

“We had a wonderful experience in St John, due in no small part to this exceptional accommodation. Every thing about the property — from the stunning views to the rich assortment of architectural, landscape, and furnishing details — is a feast for the eyes.
Further enriching the stay, Nelson could not have been a more gracious or helpful host. Getting to the house is not for the faint of heart but after a couple of trips it becomes both manageable and fun (much like driving just about anywhere on the island). The house is fairly isolated, but only a short drive to the “action” in Cruz Bay and fantastic beaches; a car/jeep is a necessity.”

“Villa Equinox is an amazing villa. The views are spectacular. There was always a lovely breeze which made sunbathing and sleeping a pleasure. Around the house there are many hand crafted pieces of art which were all beautiful.
The house itself is very comfortable. Nelson the owner and builder did a wonderful job. He has recently installed many solar panels to help promote a more green living environment. The house was spotless and way more pretty than the pictures.
The la out of the house works really well for different couples, in laws, or families with teenagers due to all of the separate private living spaces. Nelson was always available for questions that I had… even when the pool was over flowing from a lot of rain. When I asked him what to do he laughed and said ” run and jump in doing lots of cannon balls.” He was a wonderful, fun, and caring host.
I have already referred Villa Equinox to many friends and some have already booked this villa. Its location is stunning, and it is close enough to Cruz Bay but yet well removed for peace and tranquility. It was a prefect place to stay on St John!”

“Views were amazing from every room and deck. The open kitchen and living room is large enough for everyone to enjoy. Bedrooms are spread out and spacious.
The house is high up on the hill so privacy was great and we always had a nice breeze going thru the living area. We took advantage of the hot tub every night to relax and watch the stars after a long day of hiking or snorkeling.
Thanks again Nelson for sharing your beautiful home with us!”
